Restore a file or folder in windows 7 that is deleted or renamed
If in case you had accidently renamed or deleted any file or folder that was important to you, you can restore the previous version of that folder on windows. For doing this you must need to know the location where the folder or the file was earlier saved. Your important data can be restored even after renaming and deletion, to get it back follow these steps:
1) Click on start button and click on Computer to open it.
2) Navigate to that folder on the disk which used to contain that folder or file before deletion or renaming, right click after selecting it and click on restore previous versions. In that case when the folder is located in top list of drive like in drive D:, then right click on drive and click restore previous versions.
3) After this look for the previous version that you think will contain that file or folder. Double click on that version to restore and get that file back. (Like if you had lost that file today then choose that version from yesterday.)
4) Now drag that folder or file that you want to restore to some other location like on desktop external storage device or another disk partition.
The lost file or folder will get saved at that location which you had selected.
